Yesterday, I rang in age 32 in epic style, but it’s not over yet! My husband promised me an extension– the shenanigans continue on into today. I promise to give you a thorough recap of how I celebrated my birthday Part 1, as well as today’s Part 2 beginning tomorrow, including the big reveal of what was in the box my husband gave me. Til then, let me leave you with some granola talk!
A few weeks ago, I purchased and reviewed a new-to-me granola called Paleonola. It’s locally-crafted, grain-free, and bursting with nuts, seeds, and dried fruits. When I initially reviewed the Maple Pancake flavor, I declared this the best granola I have ever had.
Three weeks later, I finished the bag, and almost had palpitations at the possibility that I would no longer have Paleonola in my possession. I high-tailed it to Whole Foods to get another bag of a different flavor– you know, just to make sure that other flavors are as phenomenola (get it?) as the Maple Pancake. Lo and behold, when I was staring at the shelf of Paleonola, I for the life of me could not decide between their “Chocolate Fix” or the “Original” flavors. So, like any dedicated blogger would do, I bought both.
This morning, I busted into the Chocolate Fix.
As described on the company website, this variety is unique because 100 percent cocoa is blended into their usual nut/seed/dried berry mix, and then it is all topped with unsweetened coconut to boot. In other words, the combination is a chocolate/coconut/nut/dried cranberry/seed/cinnamon/honey/vanilla/flax lover’s dream granola. And when I busted into the bag for the first time, I almost fell over. Was I eating dessert for breakfast? Oh no, it just smells and tastes like dessert, but it in fact is a very healthy, well-balanced, and nutritious breakfast.
It was amazing!
I love, love, love Paleonola granola, and I find it hard to fathom buying any other kind for a long while. I have yet to try the Original, and I long to locate their Pumpkin Pie variety. My favorite way to eat it? With sliced nanas, Greek yogurt, and a hidden dollop of raw almond butter.
Heaven in a bowl, I tell ya!
