Happy Saturday friends! How was your week?
Mine was both good and bad. It was good because it was an extemely low key week at work. Students had exams, and all I had to do was administer and grade them– in other words, I wasn’t actively teaching which made for quite the easy and relaxing last few days. On the other hand, this week wasn’t my best in terms of eating and exercising. Somehow, I feel into a sort of “vacation” mentality after the long weekend and honestly, I didn’t make it to the gym even once this week! I don’t know what got into me, but I just wasn’t feeling it! Fortunately, whatever funk I was in is officially over– I am heading to the gym as soon as I hit publish! I am just going to chalk it up as what probably was a much needed mental and physical rest week. At least I am all caught up on my DVR!
Anyway, now that I have an Iphone, I can actually take random pics whenever I feel like it. I thought I’d share what I managed to capture by Iphone over the last few days. First, here’s the obligatory car thermometer shot from earlier in the week– when I drove to work on Wednesday it was only four degrees!
I have been having a blast toying around with Instagram and its related apps. When I was in Boston over the weekend, I bought some new makeup from Sephora, including an eye shadow palate from Urban Decay and some blush and mascara from Benefit. I snapped a pic of my loot just so I could practice my picture effects! I love mysterious and smoky this looks (yes I am a dork).
Last night, I decided to get my butt in gear and prep some healthy food for the weekend and upcoming week. I decided to have a roasting party with a new Trader Joe’s find. I roasted some butternut squash. . .
some chopped parsnips. . .
and some adorable baby brussels sprouts! They didn’t even need to be chopped!
I found them at Whole Foods and bought them just so I could roast the heck out of them.
All the veggies got the olive oil, black pepper and garlic salt treatment– yes this garlic salt is a new TJ’s product and it was my first time using it! Needless to say, it is so tasty!
I also picked up this completely awesome, incredible and fantabulous find– ground ghost chiles! I remember the episode of Man v. Food where Adam had to eat something (maybe wings?) flavored with ghost chiles and he couldn’t do it. I am so excited to try this (sparingly) in my creations– supposedly they are one of the hottest type of pepper on the planet, so I am quite curious as to its heat factor!
Ans since I am being totally random right now, here’s a photo of my baby brussies when they were finished. . . each one was barely the size of a gum ball! How cute, right?
And that my friends was officially my first Iphone photo dump. I hope you enjoyed the randomness! Have a great weekend and see you tomorrow!
