Two Pink Lines– Now What?

Picking up where I left off on my last baby post (find it here). . . it soon dawned on me that based on my pregnancy test, there was an extremely high chance I was pregnant!  Of course, I was shocked and in slight disbelief.  My husband was sound asleep, and I didn’t want to tell him right away before taking a few more tests to confirm.  So, I ended up going to the gym (the time flew because my mind was all over the place) and stopping by the pharmacy to buy two more tests on the way home.  I took them immediately (husband was still sleeping!) and they too showed positive results.  At that point it started to sink in a bit– I was pregnant!

I wanted to pounce on my sleeping husband to share the news, but I decided to wait until he woke up.  I wrote him a little note and placed all four pregnancy tests on the counter so that he would see them when he woke up.  Not totally creative, I know, but there was no way I had the patience to wait any longer.  He finally woke up and stumbled upon the tests– the look on his face was priceless!  He was confused for the first few seconds and then ecstatic once he realized what it all meant!  We hugged and jumped around a bit and made a plan to celebrate later that night over a fancy dinner since he had to go to work then.

We ended up having an amazing dinner at Al Forno later that night– it’s hard to describe what we talked about.  I think most of our sentences started with “I can’t believe it!”  We talked about how we would surprise family with the news, although we both agreed we wanted to wait until after the first ultrasound to tell everyone.  Those few weeks ended up feeling like forever!
