Weekend In Canada

Hey friends!  It’s kind of been a crazy week for me so far, but last night, I finally had a chance to relax (and draft this post!).  I mentioned in my 18 week recap that I was in Toronto this weekend for a friend’s wedding, and I have yet to show you some pics from the weekend. We came home on Monday afternoon, and I then jetted of to my pregnancy group that meets Monday nights.  Then it was back to work on Tuesday, and I spent Tuesday afternoon catching up on errands that were neglected over the weekend.  On Wednesday after work, I went to my monthly checkup, hung out with my mom and then went to my school’s “Battle of the Classes,” which is like a field day, except held in the evening.  Today was the first day of the week in which I had nothing on the agenda after work, so I went shopping!  I have been holding off on doing any baby shopping until I found out the gender, so now that I finally know, I was eager to start!  I just went to Target and bought a few things, and then I ventured into the Gap to try on maternity clothes!  I am still able to wear my regular clothes, but my belly is definitely popping, so I figured it would be a good time to dabble into the world of maternity wear.  I ended up buying seven items (2 pairs of pants, 3 shirts, and 2 tank tops) for only about a hundred bucks, which is insanely cheap for the Gap I think!  I am not going to wear them yet though– my students still don’t know I am pregnant, so I can’t roll into school in maternity clothes until I tell them!

Anyway, my weekend in Canada was awesome.  Here are some of the highlights:

We drove Friday night to Buffalo, NY, and I had a Burger King veggie burger and sweet potato fries for a “road food” dinner.  It was dark in the car when I ate it, so I didn’t snap a pic, but the burger was pretty good for fast food!

Before we headed out of Buffalo, I enjoyed a delicious oatmeal breakfast in our hotel.

Then, we headed off to Toronto for the wedding, but made a pit stop somewhere pretty epic– Niagara Falls!  It was just as amazing as I remembered from when I went there as a kid!

We finally got into Toronto, and quickly had to get dressed to head off to the wedding!

I majorly failed to take any pics at the wedding, but it was a good time!

On Sunday, we busted out of Toronto and ended up staying the night in Albany, NY, where we had a meal I had been craving for a long time– deep dish pizza from Uno’s!

Of course, a “pizookie” was ordered for dessert. . .

Finally, on Monday, we headed back to Rhode Island, but not before going to Starbucks so I could indulge in a croissant.  The last time I had a butter croissant was in my first trimester, when all I could handle was carbs.

Like I said, we made it to Rhode Island in the afternoon and called it a (great) weekend.  I had quite the big weekend, and to think, it all started with a Friday afternoon ultrasound and gender reveal!  Good stuff indeed!

I’ll most likely be back tomorrow with my 19 week recap– I have lots to share this week!

How was your Columbus Day weekend?
