Happy weekend friends! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Black Friday. I am not one for Black Friday shopping at all, but I did score on a few online baby gear deals, and somehow, my husband and I did end up at the mall yesterday, not to shop, but to see the Hunger Games. I would say we sufficiently experienced the Black Friday buzz!
I wanted to recap my Thanksgiving Day eats because they were amazing. Remember how I told you I tend to get full really fast? Well that didn’t stop me from enjoying two Thanksgivings, one at my husband’s dad’s house and one at my sister’s! I was ridiculously full by the end of the night I could barely breathe. It was definitely worth it though!
Thanksgiving lunch at my father-in-law’s was delicious. I enjoyed all the veggie sides, including butternut squash, green bean casserole, turnip and cheese casserole, mashed potatoes, and vegetarian stuffing. I ate every bite and went back for more.
Lunch dessert included pumpkin bread pudding, pumpkin pie, banana cream pie and pumpkin bread!
Now, at my sister’s later in the evening, I picked at a ton of different foods. She put on quite the spread! Her mother-in-law made samosas (potato turnovers), and I couldn’t resist snapping a pic of this one. It looks like a turkey, right?
I also had some unpictured seven-layer dip, chips, and spanakopita.
The dinner buffet included roasted carrots,
chipotle sweet potatoes,
cheesy corn casserole,
sweet potato casserole and Brussels sprouts,
And that’s just the vegetarian stuff! Of course, there was turkey and stuffing.
While I don’t love to post pics of meat here on the blog, I couldn’t help but snap pics of my two nephews enjoying their drumsticks!
Dessert included pumpkin bread, banana nut muffins, my Oreo truffles, pecan pie, cherry pie (all unpictured), this amazing homemade white chocolate raspberry cheesecake,
and lemon cookies!
I had a bit of everything, and by the end of the night, I thought I was going to explode! I am sure Baby B enjoyed it though!
Yesterday, I kept my eats pretty simple (to fight the food hangover feeling), but today, I am back to feeling normal! It was a great day, but honestly, I can’t wait until next year when there will be a special little peanut sitting at the table too!
What was the best food to cross your lips on Thanksgiving?
