Boston “Babymoon” Part 2

Good morning!  I’m actually home today thanks to a day off due to snow!  My poor husband is shoveling as I write this in the literally freezing temps, but thankfully the snow is light and fluffy as opposed to heavy and slushy.  I on the other hand just had a bowl of hot oatmeal, a cup of hot coffee, and am bundled up on the couch with two blankets!

I just wanted to finish my recap of our whirlwind Boston trip.  After a surprisingly restful night of sleep, I woke up pretty early entertaining myself watching tv on my ipad, waiting for the hubby to wake up so we could go to brunch.  Obviously there are a ton of great brunch places in Boston, but we had our mind set on one place only– The Cheesecake Factory!

We had actually never had brunch there, but since it was just a few short steps away from our hotel and we figured there would be lots of options with no wait that early on, we thought it was the perfect spot.  We were right– when we walked in, we were one of the few people in the entire restaurant! We were immediately served a few cups of coffee (decaf for me!).

We decided to split a few things since I wasn’t that hungry.  I ordered the Belgian waffle with strawberries, pecans, butter and syrup, all requested on the side.  Hubby ordered 4 scrambled eggs and wheat toast.  Between the two of us, it was the perfect amount of food.

The Belgian waffle was literally the best Belgian waffle I have ever had!  It was so light– surprisingly light considering the fact food at the Cheesecake Factory can rarely be described as light!  It was crispy and fluffy and lightly sweetened.  Topped with a bit of butter and syrup, it was perfect!  I actually had 3/4ths of it, thanks to my generous husband!

The eggs were really fluffy and a nice protein boost.   As you may know, I have recently introduced scrambled eggs into my life, though technically, I have only had them three times since the summer!  I didn’t have any toast, and we both picked on the strawberries and pecans.

I love the Cheesecake Factory in general, and its brunch did not disappoint, even though we went for “lighter” options!

We finished off our trip with a quick trip around the mall, where we bought a few candles, and then hopped in our car to head home in time for the Patriots game!  Later that evening, we ordered pizza for dinner, which was the ideal conclusion to the day!  Though it wasn’t a long vacation, it was exactly what we needed.

What’s your favorite item to order at brunch?  For me it is definitely pancakes or waffles!
